Dental Implant Placement & Restoration

Are you missing teeth and looking for a convenient, permanent solution?

Implants are the tooth replacement therapy most like your natural teeth. Just like your other teeth, implants are stable and functional. Not only do they replace a missing tooth with an attractive prosthetic, but they also can help you to maintain good nutrition, an attractive smile, and confidence for many years to come.

What Is a Dental Implant?

Implants are made of two main parts. Dr. Chris Forte will place a titanium implant post surgically into the bone where your tooth is missing. During the healing process, the bone will fill in around the implant, securing it into place.

Once the proper healing occurs, a crown is placed on top of the implant. The crown provides a chewing surface as well as an aesthetic replacement for your tooth.

The implant crown will closely resemble your other teeth. Dr. Forte will make sure that it looks natural. No one may ever notice that you have an implant.

Why Do I Need to Replace My Tooth?

Many people choose to replace their missing teeth because of appearance, self-confidence, or so that they can speak properly.

Another important reason to consider tooth replacement is because once a tooth is missing, the bone surrounding the area may begin to deteriorate. This can affect your remaining teeth in a number of negative ways. The surrounding teeth may begin to shift or cave into the empty space left by a missing tooth. This can shift your bite and misalign your teeth. The bone may deteriorate, causing the surrounding teeth to become loose, unstable, and eventually come out. Bone loss can even change the appearance of your face.

After your evaluation, Dr. Chris Forte can discuss if implants will be right for you.

How Do I Care for My Implants?

Once your implants are placed, they quickly become a permanent part of your mouth. Unlike partials, they cannot be removed for cleaning, so it is possible for them to form plaque and calculus, just like your own teeth. In order to ensure the success of your implants, we will discuss what type of home care and continuing care will work best for you.

Dr. Chris Forte received his training at the Dental Implant Institute of Chicago and is highly skilled in the art of implant placement and restoration. When you choose to have your implants in our office, you are making an excellent decision for your health.
